Might have, on the old Tlands forums, but of course those are lost to time now. So let me give the nickel version ...

I (still) do a fair amount of magic work, among which is interacting with various non-incarnate beings (let's just say "spirits"). A long time back, when a then-friend of mine was on the brink of death, I agreed to save his life by getting his soul more or less grafted onto mine. He slowly recovered, but I ended up hopping around the universe for a while and the folks that did the work had some trouble catching up to me.

Cue 2003, after having been caught up to. After we woke Savi up and dealt with the timesharing for a year or two, we finally confirmed he'd healed up enough to be okay out on his own again, and I/we went under the metaphorical knife to become more-or-less separate entities again.

*shrug* Not as mysterious and cool-sounding with all the context in, which is why I phrased it as I did. The ultimate purpose of sharing my journal with others is to entertain and/or illuminate -- I've never demanded that anyone accept all the things that I believe; and I'd rather talk about my experiences in a way that even readers who don't share my background can get a good story out of what I write.
