Daily Random Thoughts
  • 14:58 Boss, leaving: "Going to turn up the music?" Aaron: "We'll put on musical genres you've never even heard of." Bax: "Post-Goth crunchcore!" #

(Update: Now I'm really curious to hear something from this genre I made up on the spot. I'm picturing 'crunchcore' as a mixture of industrial and techno; post-Goth crunchcore would have to be an upbeat rejection of the genre's dominant dark themes, probably fusing or remixing in something bubblegum. This has the potential to be awesome in a way that only something that shouldn't exist can be.)

Must get the thought of upbeat, happy Depeche Mode with undertones of bublegum pop out of my head1.

1. I do suspect this would make money, however. And that thought makes me need to bang my head on the wall even more.

Oh. I forgot to incorporate NiN in there. A happy upbeat NiN would likely make my head explode, especially if it had undertones of Debbie Gibson1.

1. Dear God, did I just date myself. Debbie Gibson? Just shoot me now.

Are you familiar with the original Bubblegum Crisis anime series? Some of that music, redone a bit, might fit the bill.

I'm not sure if this exactly fits what you have in mind or not, but a couple of my favorite bands, Supersystem and Spiraling, immediately came to mind! Let me know what you think?
