older men are sick to death of shaving, after doing it for so many years. And they remember when a razor cost 25c, and they're not going to pay $8 for a disposable one, no sirree!

besides, I think all the different options - 2, 3, 4 or 5 blades? vibrating beard trimmer? self-lubricating? all kind of scare them.

I have to admit, I can understand their reasoning. Even though I haven't been shaving my face for all *that* many years, I'm generally inclined to a moustache-and-goatee set for summer and a full beard for the cold months - but I get my hairdresser to keep the length of the facial hair trimmed when I go for my regular haircut every couple of weeks or so.

Generally speaking you'll find the extremely long and bushy bearded blokes also tend to have past-collar-length hair, and probably they don't go to the barber that often.

Also, older skin is often much more fragile than younger skin. Combine that with hands that might be less steady, and shaving becomes a recipe for disaster.
