Thanks to LJSeek and some goof-off time here at Hiker Heaven, I've discovered that at least two other thru-hikers this year have LJs: ridgewalkerpct and logsniffer. I appear to be ahead of both of them, but not by much (that five-day layover really put me behind the pack).

Go team LJ! Represent!

Also incidentally, I've transcribed some of my old voice posts nobody else had done. In particular, I now have a quickly readable version of my requests for artistic assistance (and also trail postcards). Please allow me to renew the call and refer you there.

There are some really freakin' great postcards here at Hiker Heaven. I'm swiping a pile of them to write back to anyone who sends me one. Free personalized trip souvenir!

Current Location: Agua Dulce, Calif.
Current Mood: relaxedrested
Current Music: Something from the new Chili Peppers album

Can I have postcard?

My husband hiked the PCT and all I've gotten is a lousy deer antler.

(I actually like the antler very much, but a postcard would be cool.)

I grabbed 12 yesterday. 10 for the first 10 people to write, 1 for parents, 1 for you. ♥

Hope you don't mind but I added your journal, I would love to keep up on how your trip is going. :)

I just wanted to let you know that your account of all this and my relating it to podisodd have us fairly well determined to do PCT or the Appalachian, depending on which we live nearest, once we have money enough saved to support ourselves on the 'road' and cushion for a jobhunt when returning. Hopefully he'll be teaching, so we'll try and do as much as we can in the summer available and only I'll need to worry about work.

I've always wanted to do something like this, but I didn't think I'd wind up with someone I could spend that much time away from or get to go with me. I seem to have lucked out on "go with me." When my foot blisters have blisters, I'll blame you. :)

*rubs hands together and cackles in glee* A minion! I have leveled up and gained a minion!

... Er, I mean, good to hear! If you end up on the PCT, I'll especially look forward to your trip, because we're close enough to the trail to offer you a layover at about the halfway point. :) Either way, keep me posted as your plans coalesce and I'll be happy to share my expertise! And in the meantime, I have plenty of hiking (and writing) to do ...
