The Official Semi-Whenever Baxil Reader Poll|
I can't really think of much to say to preface this, except that I'm curious. I could easily do a spot check of my friends list and pigeonhole names accordingly, but what that doesn't
get me is the demographic of my readers
. (Or at least those with LJ accounts
, which are needed to vote in polls.)
Where/how did you first discover/meet Baxil?
High school or college friend.
The oddly mislabeled phenomenon known as "real life."
Through dragon or Otherkin circles.
Through furry circles or at a furry con.
At a (non-furry) convention.
Through poly circles.
Through hiking circles, or due to the PCT hike.
Right here on LJ (via mutual friend or otherwise).
Stumbled across website(/TTU/Tlands Forums), and stuck around.
Other! (Explain in comments!)
I haven't been writing much lately, so I feel like a "my life thus far" post might not be amiss. I'll try to prioritize one targeted at the largest demographic(s) unless a vocal minority speaks up in comments.
Current Location: ~/computer_desk
Current Mood: curious
Current Music: Chemicall Brothers, "Alive Alone"
>_> It's amazing how something as small as a clicky thing can bring people out of the woodwork.

I love how Clicky Thing WITH AUTHORITY!! is winning by nearly 2 to 1.
Where the hell do I know you from, Bax? I'm going to assume "semi-kindred decidedly-non-Otherkin Internet circles", but that's about as refined as guesstimate as I can offer. :-)

I recall it as a "Stumbled across website(/TTU/Tlands Forums), and stuck around", except in the other direction. I ran across antwon.com back in the middle of your three-year posting streak and, for no other reason besides you attracting good people, became a forum regular. It's grown from there.
The_ogre knows you through BayCon, and he introduced me to you.
alt.poly 7, in an elevator, where you discussed with deyo
that you attended the same school and had a shared teacher, at different times.
Looks like I am the only one to stumble across your blog due the PCT hike. I can't decide if that makes me special ... or lame. :P:P:P

Don't feel so alone. If aknitwit
answers the poll, she'll be joining you. (And she's also in your area, though I think a bit further west.)
Oh cool! I will run past her journal later.. new friends are a good thing!

Met you through Colonel Mustard, in the study, with the candlestick.
No wait, that was something else.
I hardly stumbled, but more tripped over Baxtalk back in '03.

Rasha sez hi. ;)

Re: Rasha sez hi. ;)
Sometime around the start of the September that Never Ended
. Way to make me feel Internet old! ;-)
And hi back to Rasha. How goes? (Feel free to respond in own journal if you'd prefer a privater discussion.)

Do we really 'know' you? :P Who is this and what are we doing here?
Dazey says 'hi' too.

I seem to recall you were the tall, dark and handsomly mysterious stranger in the newsroom who swept me off my feet and and led me into a life a dragon-related sin.
If that was wrong, I don't want to be right.

I think it's more of a multiple sources deal. The very first time I ran into you was because you knew an Otherkin-ish buddy up in Seattle, but then I moved down here, and you started turning up everywhere fannish (mostly BayCon).
|Date:||April 10th, 2007 08:57 pm (UTC)|| |
Who was the Seattle connection? I'm drawing a blank.
If you'd asked me, I probably would have said that my first consciousness of you is via Es, and I ummmm have no clue where she and I met, because *verbal breakdown* baycon/otherkin/poly/pagan/furry aaaaaah small world.
|Date:||April 10th, 2007 09:59 pm (UTC)|| |
Breimh, who pointed me out to you at ConiFur as someone who drew dragons.
|Date:||April 11th, 2007 12:38 am (UTC)|| |
Ah, OK. Bree and I go way back to the alt.fan.dragons days.
But ... wow. I have actually been introduced to people in the context of being an artist?!?!!!1! *head explodes*

I'm a friend of tropism
. (Okay, so Sev is still more Zibb's friend than mine, but these days, we're friends now too. I think. *grin*)
We met very briefly in person at Baycon in 2004. (I think it was Sunday night.) I was hanging out with aris_tgd
in the hallway and you wandered into our circle. (I think you knew some of the people she was sharing a room with.) I mentioned my connections with Sev and Zibb at the time, but I don't know if you remember. Cons can get hectic.
The lack of an a.f.d option confused me until I looked again and realized it fits within "dragon/Otherkin circles."

Huh? I guess I can't answer a poll and leave a comment at the same time.
I was debating between two options. I first came across you via the Draconity Code at your old website, in '96 or '97, I think, but I never actually conversed with you until I started posting on AFD.
