Computer update
After giving it a 48-hour nap, I booted the computer when I got home from work this evening morning. The hard drive pulled a typical cat-caught-on-top-of-the-dresser-he's-no t-supposed-to-jump-up-on routine: "There were problems? I didn't see any problems. Yeah, I'm just sitting here and everything's fine. Don't ask me how I got here 'cause I'm innocent."
Which, frankly, is fine with me. If I can do the same thing next time I boot this box (I'm shutting it down after this quick post), then I can make sure all the data on it, as opposed to just the most critical, is backed up. Then if the hard drive does unexpectedly break, it's basically a big hunk of replaceable silicon.
