Breaking news!

Oh my gosh. I just found out. John Kerry is unfit to lead America!

You see, apparently Kerry hurt the feelings of Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, who was in Washington, D.C. Thursday to say that Iraq is really just super, thanks for asking.

"You can't lead this country if your ally in Iraq feels like you questioned his credibility," Bush said.

Boy, am I glad THAT got cleared up before I cast my vote.

Now that I know Kerry has impugned President Bush's hand-picked bureaucrat, that's that on the Iraq question. I can confidently ignore the CIA, Republican senators, and facts on the ground as irrelevant.

You know what? It's not even relevant that Allawi WAS lying when he said that problems in Iraq were confined to 3 of the 18 provinces. The bad thing is that Kerry called him on it.

See, it's absolutely unthinkable to have anyone in our presidential administration willing to criticize our foreign allies. 'Coz it would make them look French.

Update: More people I can safely ignore about Iraq: Veterans. And yet another piece I never have to read about how Baghdad actually looks these days. I really ought to listen to Allawi more -- it would tremendously cut down on my Internet reading time.

Wow!

A pagan festival! In Placer County! "Even more Republican than Orange County" Placer County!

Frankly, I know nothing about this other than that it exists -- it may be fluffbunny. But I'm at a state right now where I wouldn't mind a little more fluff in my life. (Plus, it's nearly free and I don't have to plan to skip work for it like I would for Pantheacon.)

And it's this weekend, no less! I'm going to have to make plans ...

Anyone else within driving range and interested in going?

(Oh, and for the BayCon crowd -- Avalon Rising is performing Sunday at 3.)
