Doublet! That was sort of the word that was rattling around in my head, but I had no idea if it was the right one or not; I'm not even sure of the technical definition, other than it fit the vague mental image I had.

And, nice. Yeah. You very much rock the outfit in general, but that detail is... well, it just is.

Custom mask! That is awesome. I always love seeing people as themselves, so much; it gives something to the experience of knowing them and honouring them in your mental images as they are that drawn art can't quite capture, so I'll be looking forward to the (hopefully inevitable) pictures. What's the turnaround time on a set like that, and (if you don't mind saying), how much?

:)

Re the mask - when all is said and done, grand total will be just barely in four digits (which, let's face it, for a from-scratch custom job, is not bad) and ummmm probably two years (but that's because I've spent a long time waiting in her commission queue). When you find the right artist, for the right project, the time and money are worth it (and I've been patiently banking the funds since I knew the stars were right).

*nod* Given other prices I've seen for just masks, it's not bad at all. Her other work looks like absolutely magnificent stuff. (I love those reptilian gloves, to death.)

I still feel like I'd want to be a lot more sure of what I'd want the design to be before I went in for anything really expensive, and I'm notoriously bad at settling on a specific image. But I'm kind of eyeing Qarrazel for if I do go for a serious spendy piece, because I can't get over how real stuff like this looks; it blows me away. Most of her work is furry, but she can work with more solid stuff too. But man, what you're getting looks like it's going to be amazingly realistic too. I'm so glad for you. Wibble. :D
