Road trip
Many, many people on my friends list are posting about gay marriage in the last day or two, now that San Francisco officials are engaging in an act of civil disobedience and marrying gay couples by the hundreds.

But it was elynne's wish that she could be there passing out heart candy to the newlyweds, and her subsequent link to Authenti-city's very touching photo album, that spurred me into action.

Coworker kadyg and I are taking a road trip into the city Sunday (about a three-hour drive). In hand: Press pass, digital camera, perhaps a sign of support ... and several armloads of heart-shaped candy.

Update to come, probably on my site.

(Additional note: I was going to make a post almost exactly like this one, but I've been beaten to it by approximately several thousand people. Those sentiments incorporated herein by reference.)

Feel free -- although (A) it's not my idea, it's elynne's; and (B) it's not really a glamourbomb per se, because it's hardly unexpected and won't shock anyone out of their complacency, it's just a mark of solidarity with people making history.

Yeah, but it's an action that promotes whimsy and jubilation. :-)

Anyway, I've been reading glamourbombs and it'd fit right in with the kind of content posted there.

Aeto's pretty lenient about server space and bandwidth with Tomorrowlands, but I'll keep your offer in mind should it become an issue. Thanks!

Damn, that is a great idea. I'd ask pretty-please for you to swing by Pantheacon, but that'd be another hour and a bit much.

Bah, fuck civil disobedience, let's go for armed revolution. All those bourgeoisie oppressors need taken out. Revolution tends to get better results for a longer time than civil disobedience does.

Also, while people are focused on this, they seem to forget the continuing oppression of the non-white races (while, sure, it's better than it was 100 years ago, true equality yet; the rate of imprisonment among black males in the US is the highest in the world, even higher than Aparteid South Africa), the oppression of those in poverty, and the basic ownership of this country by the rich (only the rich can run in election, and it's Diebold Voting Machines which are going to be counting the votes, and they can be hacked QUITE EASILY, meaning this election will probably be hijacked, but that is kind of irrelevent, as the only real choices are center and right, there is no true left to choose), and the hidden in the open robbing of our civil rights (sure, no one I know has been harmed by this yet, I do know thousands of American citizens are being held without access to lawyers and without being told why they are being held).

So, instead of trying to reform a shitty system, why not tear it down adn build a new one?

¡Viva la Revolucion!
