Razza frazza cheap hard drives ...
Can't type much, platter shrapnel still in arms. Knew I shoulda set microwave to 8 mins sted 10. OTOH discovered 200gigs do make much bigger boom than 160s.

Anyway, to keep you entertained got guest poster for Tlands Journal. Go read. Fellow nonhuman, interesting guy. Should return to normal posting schedule when healed, most likely tomorrow.

Current Mood: geekyPronkful
Current Music: Xenogears OST, "The Treasure Which Cannot Be Stolen"

There's an interesting coincidence in the subject matter here. So I'm inclined to ask: What if you just ended the life of a platter mage that who's soul existed in that hard drive, and who's memories were retained by dealing with the OS to prevent the user from wiping the slate clean?

The bigger boom might have resulted from a soul being there... or something... and the difficulty you had in choosing partition sizes may have been the intelligence that wanted to preserve it's memory. Or something.

Don't worry. If you just killed a sentient being that was incarcerated (as well as incarnated) as a HD, I'd say that the experience would be little better than a toaster. Besides, he went out with a bang.

Yes, I've been awake far too long, and my imagination has gone rampant as a result.

Who says it has to be one or the other? *ahem* Now that I'm actually aware of what I was saying... gah.

Gah. I'm going to go gah now.

I avoided a number of other jokes... but... but.. gah.
