Interesting. It takes about a minute to a minute and eleven seconds (better accuracy not possible, the last edit message does not include a timestamp) for the system comprised of Baxil/LiveJournal to finish a single cycle of this, and start a new one. Given that LJ is generally pretty responsive for paid users (and Baxil is a paid user), I don't think that much more than 30 seconds would be required to for livejournal-only activities. This assumes that he uses the web post form, doesn't close the browser window after posting, and makes good use of cut-and-paste for the meme message if nothing else.

So apparently Baxil spends somewhere between one half and nearly seven-tenths of the cycle reading his post and evaluating it, before starting the next edit-type-post portion of the cycle. Between thirty and 41 seconds are lost while he peers at the screen and makes the decision to start the next iteration.

I vote we upgrade Baxil, his CPU clearly isn't fast enough. :)

The possibility of outside distractions were not taken into account during this study, since at five-forty in the morning there are precious bloody few things that can constitute an effective distraction. Those few things that CAN cause distraction are generally those which the computer user in question (Baxil) is performing at his own discretion, wasting valuable resources. Potentially some of the lost time can be recovered by restricting his access to certain portions of the web (specifically those incorporating interesting flash games, frivolous yet amusing web sites, smut, and other things which are not particularly relevant to his blogging), so perhaps we can speak with his network administrator, look through his computer and delete a few things, and then obtain a second trial at a later time.

Management would like to note that the Tomorrowlands employee in question has been contacted. He claimed that those remaining 40-second intervals were spent in heroically fighting off giant space iguanas and thereby saving the earth. As documentation to support his claims, he provided eight slightly charred giant iguana tails, his still-warm raygun, and a personal thank-you note signed by the President of the United States.

However, we feel this story doesn't hold up. Who the heck would be proud of having George W. Bush's signature? Therefore, appropriate punishment for his lack of dedication has been performed.

Also, employee Baxil cries like a little girl. That is all.

*blinks* Hey, why didn't he fire the raygun at Bush...?

And you wondered why we didn't believe his story.
